Mountainsmith Auspex Camping/Hiking Backpack Size Large New with Tags (see tag photos). 66L internal frame top loading backpack bought new from Bivouac many moons ago never used. Very light, only 4 lbs in this large size. I'm 6'1" tall. Has compression straps and bungee cords to tighten things up for smaller loads, but this is intended as a multi-day backpacking/camping pack. Has mesh side pockets useful for water bottles/etc. Made of of Dimension Polyant VX-21 and VX-42 fabric (essentially dyneema/sailcloth) with nylon down low and in the straps, it is strong and very light for its size. I have its smaller brother the Mountainsmith Ghost, which uses the same material (dyneema) and has lasted for many years for numerous dayhikes. Bought new for a planned multi-day hike which was cancelled. Stored in smoke free, fragrance free house since bought. The reviews I've read online about the Auspex are positive, saying it can handle loads up to 65+ pounds and has been used on long trails like the AT. The Mountainsmith suspension system consists of two corrugated aluminum stays, a plastic mid-panel framesheet, padded shoulder straps, and a wide padded hipbelt. It has load lifters straps and hipbelt stabilizers and an adjustable sternum strap. Note the bungee cords show as white in flash photos, they are yellow in reality. This pack was discontinued and is hard to find now, and rare to find NWT.
